Ministry of Commerce's e-commerce project
More than 3,000 companies are conducting business to business (B-to-B) e-commerce under the Commerce Ministry's pilot project that aims to support small and medium business (SMEs). Department of Business Economics reported on May 1999 that there were 3,077 companies have engaged in business to business commerce and 100 applicants with 41 shops were now doing business to consumer transactions under the pilot project. The project was expected to have some 100 shops online by September this year.

Ministry of Commerce had spent 5.7 million baht with Thammasat University as the project consultant.
